1.0.66 lands on October 6, twenty-one days after 1.0.58 hotfix and eight days after 1.0.54 hotfix, and it is the first build since 1.0.58 to touch progression gating directly. Two of the five fixes can strand a save: the Moss Cave swimming gate and the Jack Combinator drop. The rest are tutorial clarity and two Return-mode quality-of-life fixes.

Version And Date

Version: 1.0.66 Hotfix

Date: 2026-10-06 (NDEV Steam News)

This is a long gap by Fatal Claw’s recent standards — 1.0.54 to 1.0.58 was four days, 1.0.58 to 1.0.66 is twenty-one. NDEV did not publish an accompanying expansion, and the patch text is short: five items, four improvements and fixes plus a tutorial change. Nothing in it refers to the Half Salvation Stone softlock, which remains open.

Progression Gates Fixed

Moss Cave swimming ability. Using Ascension to pass through certain areas of Moss Cave did not grant the swimming ability. Players who had already passed the section without swimming could continue, but anyone hitting the gate cold would find a wall where a swim should be. The studio does not describe which specific areas, so treat this as region-wide rather than room-specific.

Jack Combinator acquisition. Under certain conditions the item could not be obtained at all. This is a hard drop failure, not a missable optional: if the combination is on your route, a failed pickup stops progression until you reload. Reported on the Steam Bug Reports forum before this patch.

Skills And Tutorial

Snaga’s Lightning Chain tutorial. The tutorial for Snaga’s Lightning Chain has been improved. The ability itself is unchanged — this is guidance, not a rebalance. If you found the chain ability confusing on an inherited skill, the in-game explanation is clearer as of this build.

Return Mode

Minimap icons for breakable walls. In Return playthroughs, minimap icons for breakable walls were not displaying. This matters for Return planning because wall-break locations are exactly the kind of thing you want marked on a second run.

Movement

Dash softlock on moving platform edges. Dashing off the edge of a moving platform could occasionally lock the character in place. The fix addresses an intermittent case, so if you encounter it again, note whether the platform was moving at the time — that detail is what determines whether this fix covered your repro.

What This Patch Does Not Fix

The Half Salvation Stone softlock is not mentioned. That bug was reported in 1.0.27, partially addressed in the same build, and re-tested on September 4 against 1.0.38 hotfix. Four patches have shipped since 1.0.38 without a mention. As of 1.0.66 the case is still open.
